Days 10 & 11: Stickers are a Pain!

We live in a pretty populated area of the city, an adorable little subdivision, and we figured it was probably best if our bus didn’t stay the big, obnoxious, yellow beast that we bought it as. So, our first steps as new bus owners was to get the outside looking right. Everyone has their process and starts on different parts of their bus, but we felt it was most important to keep our new project as low key as possible.

This is how we initially started taking off the stickers and decals on the bus. Always, always, always do your research. Not everyone’s way of doing things is going to work for you and your bus. Christine found this process on the Facebook group, Skoolie Nation, and the person who posted it swore by it. It only took us 15 letters and a whole lot of dust to figure out a razor blade and some elbow grease worked much better!

But it’s ok, Delilah made mom feel all better about her somewhat massive fail. Also, #messyhairdontcare

It’s always best to have a dog around to kiss it and make it better. In our case we have five. Delilah took one for the team here and told mom, “we still love you.” These kisses are what glasses cleaner are made for!

David removed all the other stickers…trust me, it was better for Christine’s pride.

David got it figured out, using Christine’s scraper for the kitchen stove, *insert her annoyed face here*, and set to work on ALL the other stickers on the bus. There were letters, numbers, logos, and reflectors.

*Insert David’s relieved face here* that he was a good boy scout and remembered to wear his work gloves. Toward the end of the day he made the smallest slip with the blade and slashed open what would have been his thumb!

“Thanks @wells_lamont for saving my hide with your cowhide.”
